A 60-year-old woman is admitted for elective colectomy because of bleeding per rectum. She has not been to see a doctor for the last 30 years. She is a keen member of a mountaineering club. On admission, the nurse finds her blood pressure to be 175/120 mmHg. Discuss her anaesthetic management.
